Timesheet Management

Getting Started

Welcome to Timesheet Management for Jira Cloud, a time-logging and approval solution built for teams that want Jira-native worklogs without leaving their existing workflow.

Timesheet Management comes in two tiers: LITE, a free calendar-based time-logging tool, and PRO, which adds a full submit → approve → forward → lock weekly workflow, team reporting, and capitalization tracking for teams that need governance over their timesheets.

Timesheet Management LITE

  • Calendar - week grid, click a day to log time

  • Timesheet - rollup view, exportable to CSV/Excel

  • Replaces Jira's native "Log work" action and "Work log" tab when set as the site's Time Tracking Provider, but worklogs stay in Jira.

  • No approval workflow - every worklog belongs to its own user

  • Corrections - per-user tab catching entries affected by issues resolved after the fact

  • Admin: block worklogs after issue resolution date (Settings)

Timesheet Management PRO

Everything in LITE, plus:

  • Full submit → approve → forward → lock weekly workflow (Approvals tab)

    • Approvals snapshot worklogs at approval time - survive later edits, and a daily scan reopens approval if the source worklog is deleted

    • Forward: an approver can delegate approve rights for one (person, space, week) slice to someone else

    • Lock: once a week is fully approved site-wide, it can be locked (manual or auto) - one-way, admin-only unlock

  • Reports tab with four report types:

    • Time In Status

    • Status Capitalization - classify time as CAPEX or OPEX by Status, with user’s time split across concurrent work items

    • Teams - roster rollup across the whole site

    • Billables (admin-only) - rate-based billable amounts

  • Teams org chart that can be used for approvals
